What are standard booklet sizes?

Common sizes for booklets are DL, A5 and A4, but other sizes are always possible.

How do I know that I need to be printing a booklet?

As a rule of thumb, once you reach about eight pages to your document, you fall into the booklet-printing category (also known as "multipage"). Booklets can be:

• catalogues
• annual reports
• price lists
• orders of services
• training materials
• other business or personal publications

Once you fall into this category we will always quote you based on "pp" (per page). This means the total number of numbered pages (for example, two double-sided A4s folded would constitute a 8pp book).

What are my printing options for booklets?

For small booklets (8pp to 24pp) in small quantities (up to 500) we recommend digital print. Digital-printed booklets can be black & white, full colour or a mixture of both. Booklet insides can be printed on paper weight up to 120gsm, with covers printed on paper up to 170gsm. They come saddle stitched (two staples in the centre of the book) and folded to the correct finished size.

For larger booklets and larger runs we recommend offset press where both self-covering (same paper as in the inside pages) and hard-cover options are available. Hard covers can be printed right up 310gsm stock and can include matte or gloss laminate for that professional finish. Booklet finishing includes both saddle stitching and perfect binding.
